Conference Language: The official language of the conference is English.

Time Zone: Rapid City is on Mountain Time (GMT –7h).

Climate: The average daytime temperature in June is high: 29°C / 84°F; low 13°C/55°F. It is a great time to combine business with pleasure and discover the city and surrounding areas.

Currency and Credit Cards: The US currency is the US dollar (USD). The dollar can be divided into 100 cents. Coin denominations are 1¢, 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, and $1. Bank notes are $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100. Foreign currency and traveler’s checks can be converted into USD at a foreign exchange bank or other authorized money exchangers. Credit cards such as VISA, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted in hotels,
department stores, and restaurants.

Automated Teller Machines (ATM): Travelers who carry internationally recognized credit cards can get a cash advance in USD at ATMs installed at airports, hotels, department stores, and tourist attractions. Credit cards like VISA, MasterCard, and American Express are the most widely accepted in the USA.

Business Hours: Most government offices, private companies, and banks are open between the hours of 8:00 and 17:00 and closed on weekends. Shopping malls are open from 9:00 to 18:00 every day. Restaurant and brewery hours may vary.

Tax: Two taxes apply in Rapid City; the state and city sales tax. They are 4.5% and 2% respectively, making the total sales tax 6.5%.

Electricity: The standard electrical supply is 110 volts (60hz).
